Nanyang 2025 P6 Maths Prelim — Paper 1 Booklet B Q25 Solution
Question
Dan packed 840 books into 2 crates and 3 boxes. The number of books he packed into each crate was twice as many as the number of books he packed into each box. How many books did he pack into each box?
Answer: 120
Worked solution
- Let each box hold $1$ unit. Each crate holds $2$ units. Total $= 2 \times 2 + 3 \times 1 = 7$ units $= 840$. So $1$ unit $= 840 \div 7 = 120$ books per box.
