Question

Town B was exactly halfway between Town A and Town C. Firdhaus drove at 62 km/h from Town A and Elden drove at 61 km/h from Town C, both starting at 9 a.m. and meeting 2 km from Town B. What was the distance between Town A and Town C?
Answer: 492 km

Worked solution

  1. They travelled for $4$ hours. Firdhaus covered $62 \times 4 = 248$ km and Elden covered $61 \times 4 = 244$ km. Total distance from Town A to Town C $= 248 + 244 = 492$ km.
