The figure is made up of three identical right-angled triangles. The perimeter of the figure is 72 cm. Find the area of the figure.

Answer: 3

\(\text{Each right-angled triangle has sides } 12, 16, 20 \text{ cm (perimeter of figure} = 72 \text{ cm)}\)
\(\text{Area of each} = \tfrac{1}{2} \times 12 \times 16 = 96 \text{ cm}^2\)
\(\text{Total area} = 3 \times 96 = 288 \text{ cm}^2\)
